Aleph Zero is the product of two minds- Yaniv Shulman & Shahar Bar-Itzhak. Yaniv, of the talented Shulman musical project, is a true innovator of psychedelic ambient. He is known for breaking borders and morphing new sounds, with two highly successful albums behind him and a lot of praises from every possible direction; Shahar has been involved with the electronic dance & chillout music world for more than a decade, dancing on far away beaches, beneath green mountains and in yellow deserts, writing about music in a multitude of magazines and web sites, DJing in parties, clubs & festivals & compiling compilations.

The two have known each other for quite a while, but never really got to meet for a music session. Once they did, it clicked, and not long after Aleph Zero was born, through which they hope to project their musical vision unto the world. It is a vision of downbeat electronic music, journeying through the realms of ambient, chill out, ethnic sounds and weird electronica.

Avatar Records was established in the spring of 1997, after Avichay Avigal came back from a seasonal visit in India. Then he left BNE, where he was A&R and production manager. He joined forces with Peter Eibenschutz, a well known veteran and appreciated figure in the local and international scene, who has been pulling the strings from the back stage.
The two had been organizing and promoting indoor and outdoor parties and events in Israel and Europe since the early party days, and were the main members of "Habrit" party organization, with its leading massive line of underground parties .
From the very first release (Ama Zone / Asia 2001), there was an impact that brought Sony Music Asia to release the album, making it the first psytrance album to be released in major Asian countries.
Avatar's goal is to bring music to all layers of society and not only to trance and techno listeners. This is the reason why it does not focus on a narrow music direction, but together with that the general concept is electronica.
